The Provinces of Archos

In days of yore, the continent was named the King's Crown, a single peaceful kingdom under the rule of a high king. However it did not last forever, following the events of the fall of the last high king and the Separation leaving the continent divided into three provinces: the central Ustaria, the northern Hestria, the southern Ebraria, and the eastern Uspya, together forming the Provinces of Archos.

The Continent

The province of Ustaria

Central province of the continent and the self-proclaimed capital of the world. They are led by a king who rules over the lords of cities and domains. Ustaria holds a tight but fragile political hold on all other provinces as a sort of leader and mediator of their respective relationships with the other provinces.

Ustaria is a province rich in culture with a love for the seven arts: Architecture, Sculpture, Painting, Literature, Music, Performance and the birth of combining any of these with magic.

In Ustarian culture the presence of the organized church is always at hand, with traces of its influence in many important decisions, in the foundations of every citizen's beliefs and as a form of inspiration for many expressions of art. The principal religion practised is the worship to the god Ardor, also known as the eternal fire.

Ustarians are people of strong morals and ethic codes with their knights as prime example serving under their vassals or lords, exercising a code of chivalry and a living according to a list of knightly virtues.

In Ustaria is found the College Town of Magic, a city mostly populated by academics in pursuit in the study of magic. In there the eight schools of magic are taught, Abjuration, Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Evocation, Illusion, Necromancy and Transmutation. These are all practised except for necromancy which was declared as forbidden, but allowed to be taught under strict surveillance. This institution tries to remain neutral from the shifting balances of power of the provinces and away from the politics of the continent, although they can hardly force this neutrality on their alumni.
